President Monson To No Longer Attend Regular Meetings, Please Pray For Him

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released the following statement on Tuesday:

Because of limitations incident to his age, President Monson is no longer attending meetings at the Church offices on a regular basis. He communicates and confers with his counselors on matters as needed. President Monson is grateful that the work of the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles continues without interruption. He appreciates the prayers and support of Church members.

Please pray for our beloved prophet and his family! President Monson has done so much good for the world over the course of his 89 years. President Monson is anticipated to remain in his home for the foreseeable future.

  • Thank you Pres Monson for the love you have for us, I love all your messages. – from the Philippines

  • I have always prayed for you, President Monson…but now more than ever I will pray for you more….thank you for being our prophet….

  • I offer a different perspective: I would rather pray for somebody, and serve somebody who gets nobody to pray for her (or him) at all because she (or he) is a little person in society, but needs it. The forgotten people in this world need more than those who have TV cameras on them, and a personal staff following most of their needs. Pres. Monson probably already gets maybe a million people praying for him everyday. He already has enough. He has also lived a long, busy life.
